| 16 June 1869 Orlaug Kolbeinsdtr. Tveite and Anders Eirikson Overland
were married. They both came from Myrkdalen and the church was
a long way from Myrkdalen. Therefore, people didn't put on their church clothing
before they arrived at Old Vinje Church
where the ceremony took place. The house in foreground of the picture
is still standing in the same place as in 1869. Orlaug and Anders had three sons. All emigrated to America. Anders died in 1875. Orlaug then married Kjel Olson Nesheim in 1876. Kjel and Orlaug had four children. Orlaug was the grand grandmother of Ingeborg Backer. Ingeborg Backer now works at Voss community administration. |
